We are in summer time but Francis Rimbert doesn’t stop working. With the first leg of the tour with Jean Michel Jarre ended, Francis kindly offered this exclusive interview to Fairlight Jarre and www.francisrimbert.es
– Once you’ve finished the first part of the neverending In>Doors Tour with Jarre, don’t you feel tired or bored about playing the same music for 2 years?!?!? (I mean, this is an extra-large tour, and we’ve tour dates for March 2010!!)…
It’s not that much wearying to perform these tracks because most of the time the orchestration has been modified and in the other hand various parts are attributed with constant change. We evolved alot my friends Claude, Dominique and Jean-Michel, on the concept of LIVE performance. Trying to return to a direct approach of the music ; I.e. to use as much as possible the synthesizers of origin rather than to sample them. Even if it entails to endanger because technically speaking we should recognized that a ARP 2500 is much less safe than a FANTOM ROLAND. It is this way of thinking, this kind of philosophy which makes me feel good for each new adventure. And I am quite impatient to come back on stage in 2010 with some others “oldies” € ! I was speaking about synthesizers ! and not about people on scene ! ….. (lol)

Last May 30, in Zurich‘s Hallenstadion (Switzerland), the first leg of Jean Michel Jarre‘s current tour, “In>Doors Tour”, ended for good, with a total of 18 concerts performed in 12 european countries.
The tracklist remained the same that the first concert in Debrecen, Hungary, only changing the order of the tracks and adding two new encores (Industrial Revolution 2 and Oxygene 4) at the end of the shows.
With the only exception of the danish concerts in Aarhus and Herning (where the ticket sales were rather low), and despite of the lack of promotion and the high cost of tickets, the feedback of the public was great, almost reaching sold out on every venue that Jarre and his team visited during the tour.
The plans for the future are to restart the tour again in September but, by now, the new dates are a total mistery.
Our friend Ecocharlie was so lucky to see the concert that Jean Michel Jarre performed in Amsterdam, in the Heineken Music Hall, last May 26. Here it is his review of the event:
Our friend Divo went to the gig given by Jean Michel Jarre at the MEN Arena in Manchester last May 23. This is his review of the concert:
Our dear friend Sergio “Paqui Dermo” Calleja, went to the concert given by Jean Michel Jarre in the Wembley Arena, London, last May 22 as part of his current “In>Doors World Tour“. Here it is his great review of that gig:
Yestarday, the official Jean Michel Jarre web page (www.jeanmicheljarre.com) was re-launched. With a new design from BDFCK, this new site contains sections about news, biography discography and an official forum.
This is the first time since the creation of the official website in 1997 that is Jarre himself and his team, and not any record company, whom owns the total control of the official page.
